FableNew Year, New Fable
Shot in a striking Whistler home for “New Year, New Fable,” this project played with contrast: the cool, moody blue cabinetry and richly textured countertops against the warmth of wood-paneled walls and open shelving. I chose the space specifically for that visual depth and character, knowing it would give the shoot something to play against.
We leaned into dramatic shadow and light throughout, using the natural texture of the room to add depth and mood. In video, this became simple, powerful movement: slow pans and considered motion that let the space and the light do the storytelling.
Against that backdrop, Fable’s pieces, speckled white plates, delicate glassware, simple silverware, stood out in their quiet simplicity. The goal was to let contrast do the work: a bold, textural, shadow-rich setting grounding understated, everyday essentials, so the product never competed with the space but felt naturally at home in it.
Captured in the stillness of a new year, the images and film lean into a sense of fresh starts: simple table settings, natural light spilling across the counters, small rituals waiting to happen.
